YOUR IN A PRETTY ROUGH SITUATION. IT'S HARD TO DO ANYTHING WHEN YOU HAVE LITTLE ONES VIEING FOR YOUR ATTENTION AT ALL TIMES. HERE'S WHAT I WOULD SUGGEST:
FIRST THINGS FIRST, AFTER GETTING THE KIDS UP, MAKE THE BEDS, LET THEM LEARN FROM EARLY ON THAT THIS IS THE ROUTINE, GET OUT OF BED AND MAKE IT. ON YOUR WAY OUT OF THE ROOM TAKE ANY LAUNDRY NEEDING TO BE CLEANED. WHILE THE KIDS EAT BREAKFAST WORK ON PICKING UP THE KITCHEN, COUNTERS, STOVE TOP, DISHES. NEXT BRING THE KIDS INTO THE LIVINGROOM AND SET THEM UP WITH A GOOD TV PROGRAM WHILE YOU CLEAN HAT ROOM. WHEN IT COMES TIME TO VACUUM JUST TELL THEM YOU HAVE TO MAKE SOME NOISE FOR A FEW MINUTE, BE PATIENT AND THEY CAN FINISH WATCHING THEIR PROGRAM WHEN YOUR DONE. SAVE THE BATHROOM AND LAUNDRY FOR WHEN THEY'RE NAPPING. BEFORE THEY GO TO BED AT NIGHT, PUT AWAY ALL TOYS AND SET OUT THEIR CLOTHES TO MAKE TOMORROW A LITTLE EASIER. KIDS GROW UP FAST, REALLY FAST! GET THEM USE TO A CLEANING ROUTINE RIGHT AWAY SO THAT THEY CAN HELP.
Every Saturday I clean out my bedroom of dirty clothes and throw 'em in the laundry basket, do a general tidy up, vacuum and make the bed.. that's about it really. Gramps does the rest LOL
Hi there!
if your house is in a real bad shape, organize your day and keep a part of it for house cleaning as a daily routine and go about doing one thing daily in that alloted time.
never try to do all in a single day.
try this: http://makemyhome.blogspot.com/2007/05/h...
check "Organize your home" book link in Home Improvement Books in right panel of the said webpage.
Good luck.
I clean every day when the family are at school work ,i start in the bed rooms make beds and general tidy, the sitting room is next fix the sofa's plump up cushions take away old news papers empty bin dust telly & table into the kitchen load washer and dish washer tidy work surfaces and wipe down,Bathroom next pick up towels flush loo get out the cleaner and wash shower/sink/toilet finally i get out the vaccum and do all the rooms and wash kitchen/bathroom floors and it's all done it takes less than an hour as it's done everyday in the week and the house stays tidy .
First, you've got to get yourself organized. Make sure everything has a specific place to be stored and try hard to keep everything in its place. With small kids, if you put all the toys in a big box, they will inevitably dump out all the toys to get to the ONE they really want. Try open shelving, with baskets for storing toys. Establish "toy free zones"...I never let my kids bring toys into my bedroom. I'm sure that your kids can pick up some of their own toys at the end of the day...even if it is just one toy...and you pick up the other 97. Start training them now, establishing a routine that will last a lifetime.
I put the washing machine on every morning before taking the kids to school. I clean the bathrooms twice a week. Change the sheets once a week. Once a week I do one room top to bottom...so every room in the house get a deep clean several times a year. Every day...walk around the house with a garbage bag...looking for things to throw away, vacuum, spend 5 minutes on a "hot spot" one of those places where stuff seems to collect (you'll never solve that problem...but if you devote just a few minutes to that one place everyday you can keep it managable).
Also, get a crock pot...fill it up while kids take their nap so dinner will be ready when you probably least feel like cooking. It was a life saver for me when my kids were young.
