Hello. Lately, I stamped out a fire with my shoes. How do I get rid of the smoke odor, fast?

Question:From an internet source, I took Vanilla Extract, and poured it on rags, and put the rags on shoes. That didn't help, and it made the shoes smell like vanilla. I have already washed the shoes in a washing machine. It cleaned the shoes, but the smell of smoke and vanilla is still there. URGENT!

Answers:
I swear by Lemon juice for getting rid of bad smells, If that doesn't work then try cleaning them with vinegar.

Try spraying them with Febreeze.

wash them in white vinegar then wash them again w/ soap.
