I want to do some housework but...?
Question:my housemate is asleep on the couch and I want to do some sweeping and put some music on nice and loud to get me in the mood for actual cleaning he does have a room to sleep in he's just on the couch what should I do ?

It would be best if you have a portable music player. He has couch rights just as much as you do. Later, mention this to him that you wanted to play music and clean but were afraid of waking him up. He should respond with something like telling you to go ahead and wake him up next time.
If you two are tight, he wouldn't mind you waking him up now to move him so you can clean.
Turn up the music, and go for it, if he doesnt like it he can go to bed
run the vacum arround his feet ...i give it about 3 minutes where he will get up on his own and go in his room ! then you can clean and turn up the valume ...works with my Husband every time ..lol good luck

He may find all of this noise soothing or he can pick his *** up and go to bed.
use an mp3 player or ipod, with headphones, for music, if you want you can just wake him up and tell him to go to his room.
I've been married for 28 years so having a room mate is something I really know about. Just tell this person that It's hard to clean when he's sleeping on the couch and ask him to please give you a few so you can get some cleaning done.He'll probably be glad that you're doing it so he doesn't have to.(I imagine you share the housework.) I understand that this person has rights just like you, but they also have a room to sleep in, Keep in mind... their rights to live in your home never override yours.You always have the right to live in a clean home, If they won't move and let you clean the way you like to do it;they need to clean it for you after their nap.
