Why is the wash apparatus trashing jeans?

Im not at home currently. When I am , the jeans seem to wash fine. not sure if at hand is a underwire from a bra left in the appliance here or the rubbish water, as they my 501s seem to seize scratched in the same place and freshly come out worse. Its happened with 2 latest pairs now, always in the vicinity the buttons. Ive cleaned the filter of gunk, dunno what else to do. I notice it just happen with my jeans. any thoughts? thanks within advance, and YES I do wash them inside out etc.

Answers:    Could be the zipper on the jeans cause it. Close the zippers and button or snap at the waist before washing. See if that help.
