Last night I dropped my iron on the carpet. It left some remnants melted to the iron. How do I get them off?

Question:

Answers:
scrape off or use oven cleaner

you can use very fine steel wool, or buy an iron cleaning solution.
hey.how do u get this off there's a product at the home depot the will remove that wiff out a problem its called goof off but the iron must be off . you spray it on an it show remove it if not use something harder or let it sit an try again it should remove mostly anything
Try removing it with fine steel wool. Rub gently and work slowly to loosen stuff. If most of it doesn't come off, try GooGone on the iron when turned off. The residue is probably a plastic/petroleum product so it should work.
Scrub with steel wool pad or scrape with razor blade.
Turn it on, let it get hot, and then get a scraper. As soon as it gets good and hot, unplug it, and then CAREFULLY scrape it off quickly.
