Anybody know what this soap is called?


Question:It is in a bar and it is for laundery. It is orange and has a pretty distinctive odor. It isnt anything new either. My grandmother always told me to wash with it when I was exposed to poison ivy. I forget the name...

It could be Octagon soap. My great-grandmother used it for everything. It has lye in it.

Lye/sodium hydroxide...we used to be threatened to have our mouths washed out with this!!!!

Octagon Soap. My Gramma always kept it around for my poison ivy, and it worked wonders. I actually now keep some on hand myself.
