A few years ago, my wife flushed a bottle down the toilet and never told me. The first day it was OK. I took a dump the next AM and it was slow but it went down. She took a dump a few hours later when I was at work and it seems that was enough to make a problem, yet she still didn't tell me. I got home and she was still at work. Only taking a leak, after flushing, the g.d. toilet overflows and I have no idea what is up.
My wife collects small bottles. She puts a few on each window. Seems she adjusted the blinds and one fell off into the crapper. She figured it would "just go away". WRONG!!!!!!!!!...
I had to shut off the water. Take the whole toilet apart. I power washed the bottom. Then I tried to get the bottle out of the bottom. I could hear it rattling. Eventually I broke the bottle with the snake, and I'd say I was lucky I didn't crack the toilet, which is light blue to match the tile and probably irreplaceable.
I threw the rest of the g.d. bottles away. Eventually my wife got more and put them on the window, because she can't help herself, she has to collect junk and cover our house with it. From time to time I just throw the stuff out, because it is overwhelming and ridiculous.
I put a new wax seal on the floor when I reinstalled the toilet.
I seriously doubt your deodorant "went down" either. You're going to have to call a plumber. If you knew what to do, you wouldn't be asking here. I wouldn't suggest tearing down your toilet, but that's what needs to be done. If it is white, it might be cheaper to just replace it.
it will dissolve soon enough..
meanwhile...enjoy the no sweat toilet seat..ahahahahahaha
The deodorant probably went pretty far down the drain, since the deodorant is less then 2 inches wide and your pipes are probably 2.5.
You have two options.
1) Call the plumber now and get it fixed while the deodorant is close
2) do nothing until there is a problem and then call him out.

You don't have to get a plumber, but you will need to get a plumbing snake, http://www.diyonline.com/servlet/gib_bas... . There relatively cheap compared to a plumber, probably $20 at a home improvement store. Than just stick it in the toilet and keep pushing it until you push the deodorant into the larger plumbing. Which will not be that far if your in a house. I got a chunk of grout paste 2 inches round stuck in my pipe and I only had to push it 6 feet until it hit the large pipe and cleared the drain. If your in an apt. I don't know how far it will be. And no it won't dissolve, plastic takes hundreds of years to dissolve. Good Luck, and just keep pushing it.
