Best vacuum to go from carpet to tiled floors?
Question:Every vacuum I have purchased within the past couple of years ends up getting trashed because when I am vacuuming on the carpet and then transition over to the kitchen floor, the trash I pick up on the kitchen floor spits back out behind the vacuum. I even change the setting to hardwood floors. I'm tired of spending all this money on vacuums, so I need to know which one would be the best for my problem. Thanks!

Dyson hoover is the best for me. I have all ceramic & marble tiled flooring in my house. I also have rugs. It´s best hoover I have ever purchased. East to change filter, wash leave to dry for 12 hr´s & pop back in. bagless, great for pet owner´s and for people with allergies. Dyson is the hoover you are looking for

you really should go to a canister vac. it comes with a bare floor attachment. i own a kenmore progressive and love it.
A canister is great for your situation. The Miele Callisto is a great vacuum. It is more expensive but it is a one time deal. Once you buy it, you are good for 20 to 25 years (that is how long they last!) The Miele Callisto has an awesome SEB 217 Powerhead. It has the best edge cleaning ever. If you use this vacuum to pick up bird seed on a carpeted floor along the edges of your wall it will pick up ever piece guarantee it. You can use the powerhead on the bare floor which does a wonderful job. It has a squeegee underneath to really seal to the ground as well as all rubber wheels that will not scratch your floors. But if you want to use an even nicer tool it comes with an SBB 300-3 Floorbrush which is amazing. It has super wide holes all around and it will pick every up as well. it barely feels like you are pushing anything and it has a knuckle which allows you to twist and turn into and spot you want like behind the toilets, buffet table, couches and the floorbrush itself is low enough to get under the baseboards and kickjams. The filtration is 99.95% effective at 0.3 microns which is amazing. Thanks to its HEPA filter and super intensive clean bags the vacuum is able to achieve this kind of filtration. If you think this is just another figure think again check out this video:

That shows that the air is actually being purified as it comes out of the machine. The suction is also amazing. It has a new vortex motor which is amazingly effective and quiet. This is the quietest vacuum on the market when it is two notches from full power (their quiet setting) it makes less noise than a pot of boiling water. So you can vacuum at night when the kids are sleeping. It also has a crush proof hose and an amazingly ergonomic hose handle. The wands are made a graphite (that is what they make golf clubs and airplanes out of). All of the cords are integrated in the hose and wands so there are no external cords to deal with. I bought my Miele Callisto from Mr. Vac and Mrs. Sew for only $699 with free shipping and no tax (because I do not live in new york). They were wonderful to deal with and they made my shopping experience a pleasant one. Here is their number (you have to call them up to get that price because that price can not be found anywhere on the Internet):
