Does anyone know how to get mould off a shower curtain?

Question:I have tried baking soda and vinegar in the washing machine to no avail.

Answers:
If the shower curtain is white, I throw it in the washer with a load of white towels, hot water, on gentle, with 1 cup of bleach. If it isn't white, there are many different preparations available in the cleaning aisle of a supermarket that claim to kill mold. I haven't found this claim to be completely true, but it's worth a try.

um..i buy a new one
bleach!!
Try bleach, In the washing machine...
My solution is bleach and water and a scrub brish
Bleach will kill the mold. Unfortunately, the stains may not come out. I'd break down and buy a new shower curtain.
yep, buy a new one
is it a special shower curtain? if not it would be best to buy a new one.. wash it oftin to make sure it won't happen again.
bleach
Throw it out and get a new one. Mold is a bacteria that can make you sick, it is also an allergen. When something gets moldy, toss it out!
Oh, go buy a new one. Mold is icky - it's a bacteria, can make you sick -- and you don't want to be surrounded by it. Go to the store - and if you can't buy an expensive one, buy a cheap one...
Mix 3 parts warm water to two parts lemon juice and spray on the offending area..leave over night, wipe off the next day.
trust me, it works..hope that helps.
I had the same problem. Scrubbing with a nail brish might help. If u r in the UK tesco are selling plain white shower curtains for 97p. Maybe u could get one of these instead.
Best to buy a new shower curtain. I replace mine often.
Buy a new shower curtain. They're $3 at Wal-Mart, so I just get a new one every couple of months.
I would throw the shower curtain in the washing machine, adding a little soap and bleach. It worked for me.
I think you might be better purchasing a new one.
The Makers of Oxy Clean has a new product out to get rid of mold, They also sell the brand called KABOOM
I've never tried KABOOM but i do use Oxy Clean in my laundry right along with my laundry soap
Bleach. If you are speaking of a liner, a new one cost $1.00 at the dollar store.
u spent more money on cleaning it then getting another one.
get over it and get a new one. if u are looking for the same one try e-bay.
good luck with your curtain
Bleach is the best way, half fill your bath with cold water and a good bit of bleach and soak the shower curtain overnight. Pop in in the washing machine and it'll come up mould free.
This is one of the most profound mysteries since the dawn of time. Mankind may never fully understand it. My most frequent course of action in this situation is to prey to the Flying Spaghetti Monster to clean it while I sleep. 43% of the time this works every time.
Get some Milton sterilising tablets that most people use for babies bottles. You can get them from most supermarkets etc. I fill the bath with enough cold water so I can submerse the curtain in. Add about 3 tablets and then soak your curtain in it for about an hour. After you pull plug rinse the curtain well with clean water and the mould/mildew will come away easily.

Good Luck x
I just cut off the bottom edge until I've cut off so much that it doesn't reach the tub anymore- then get a new one.
Soak in bleach in your bath overnight, do mine often
Try washing in Tylex and and soap powder or just plain old Clorox (bleach) and soap powder.
If you are talking about the plastic LINER then toss it and get a new one.
If you are truly talking about the curtain, meaning the thing that goes outside the liner, this shoudl be washed regularly (about twice a month) anyway so I would start fresh with that as well and take better care of the next one.
Be sure and wash it in the washing machine with some old towels. The towels will help wash off the mold versus washing it by itself. I use Biz as a pre wash in my washer & it comes out clean. The towels are really the key, They do the scrubbing for you.
If this doesn't work-then you may need to get a new shower courtain.
Along with vinegar and laundry detergent, please place some bath towels, etc. in the washer with the shower curtain. The "scrubbing" action of the twoels with the shower curtain should help get that stuff off.
My mom taught me that a person can wash the shower curtain, and yes, even the rubber bath mat, in the washer with the bath towels (once in awhile). I use cold water, laundry detergent, and at my apts., a front loading washing machine. The rubber bath mat, I take it out of the washer, put it back in my bathroom, rooled up, on the back top edge of the tub to dry, and stay till I need to use it. The shower curtain, because it's material and not plastic, I dry it on low or perm press in the dryer. I hope this helps. Take care.
You can find CLOROX cleaner with bleach spray in any of the stores, just spray on to the shower curtain thoroughly at night to let it work all night & in morning just wash it off, just after two applications you will see the change.
I clean my bathrooms just like this, this solution is amazing only since it contains bleach make sure it doesn't get on any clothes or towels and also please do not inhale fumes.
That why it best when sprayed on at night.
The washing machine usually works for me.I put bleach on it.You can also (if its plastic) lay it out in the yard and spray it with a water hose and put bleach on it.but now bleach will kill your grass...so be careful.hope it works out for you.
