How do I wash white canvas shoes?
Question:I have washed my brand new white canvas shoes four times to get rid of the brown stain it creates when ever it dries up! does anybody have a solution to this? a real practical solution??
Answers:
Scrub them with laundry detergent.
There is a whitener of canvas shoes. You apply it with a sponge.
I did so every week for 6 years when I was in primary school.
Throw them in the washer machine, run hot with bleach.
add bleach to the water, don't wash them in a machine, and hang them up to dry as it will allow the water to run out and not collect
In a dish-washer!!
Try with the good old fashioned soap bar soap, you know the one used for washing clothes. You can buy this in your local hardware store. It´s normally brown in color. Use cold water, so soak your shoes in cold water, rub in the soap. Leaving the soap on & free from water ,1/2 hr should be enough. Now back to cold water give another rub with the soap, use a soft toothbrush to rub the soap in well. Again back to cold water rinse all the soap out. Next and best thing to do is hang them outside in the sun, this way they will dry quicker, and any stains there might be left,( which I dought) will be bleach out the natural way by the sun. Works for me
A tiny bit of lemon juice sponged on the stain, make sure the shoelaces are out of the shoes. And then air dry the shoes.
Wash them in the washing maching, you can add bleach. Air dry. Buy white scuff remover. It says it is for hard shoes, but I use it on canvas shoes all the time, it will make them a litlle damp, just let them dry completly before wearing.
