What vacuum is best for pet hair?
Question:I am needing to buy a new vacuum but will not be buying a dyson, are there any cheaper alternatives?
Answers:
I actually use a 'shop vac' in my home. I paid about $60 for it about 10 years ago. I do not have carpet in my home. All my floors are hard. I have 3 inside dogs. The shop vac works great. Today expect to spend at least $100. I use the foam sleeve and paper filters. About $3 each.
I know the Dyson is expensive , but it is worth every penny. I have two St. Bernards ( long hair ). They make a specific model for animal hair. Before this I had a Sears canister top of the line , I thought it was a great machine and did a wonderful job on the pet hair..until the Dyson. I actually vacuumed one room and then went back and did it again with the Dyson ...huge results in terms of the amount of hair the Dyson picked up after the Sears.Occasionally you can find one on sale for about 10 - 15 % off the regular price.
Invest ... it will be worth it in the long run.
