Why does a dryer catch on fire?

Question:WELL I HEARD A POP AND I SEEN THE BACK OF THE DRYER ALL RED LIKE A FIRE IN THE BACK OF THE DRYER

Answers:
have you cleaned out the lint trap?

Probably have lint build-up in the exhaust pipe. Very dangerous. You should clean it out.
you may have lint build up plus wash out your tray if you use the dryer sheets they leave a film that will catch your dryer on fire,
When we worked with Boy Scouts we always carried a bag of drier lint to use as a fire starter - does that give you a clue?
It caught on fire because it got to hot.
Two things may have happened.
1. As stated Lint, usually in the Vent hole.
2. The heating element burned out (If, it Electric).

Even though the link is for a Whirlpool, most Dryers are similar. The pictures show the Heating Element and location, also, you can see the Vent hole bottom center.
