Question:I have TONS of big black flys in my garage, as well as tons of clothes I have ready for rummage sale. They can't eat through clothes, right? HOW DO I GET RID OF ALL THE FLYS?
Answers:
Ask a Catholic Priest to perform an exorcism on your garage. (just kidding)
Seriously though, there's probably a source that's attracting them to your garage. So until you find that source, no matter how many flies you exterminate, more of them will keep returning to your garage.
HERE'S A LIST OF POSSIBLE SOURCES:
* Dead Critter carcass that hid itself somewhere before it died.
* A bag of perishable groceries that you forgot to bring into the house.
* Leftovers from a bag of lunch gone rotten that you forgot to bring back in when you got home from work.
* If you have an old refrigerator or freezer in your garage, it might not be draining water from the auto-defrost cycle properly and settling somewhere hidden on the floor of the garage.
* A rotten smelling floor drain.
I think it's most likely something rotten. That's what flies like. Sometimes you can't always smell anything because of a draft that keeps the air around it from moving to the areas you typically walk through. Sniff around outside of your garage to try to locate where the flies are noticing it. This might clue you in better to where the source is coming from.
Now You are "SURE" they are flies! Not Bees, or hornets!!
Either::: there is something dead in your garage and these are blow flies coming out of the carcass. They should have bright shinny blue and or green abdomens. If so-find the source (carcass) and remove it first (bury it). Then spray the flies with 'raid' or any flying insect killer.
OR::: they are cluster flies. If so they will have light white, grey, or yellow stripes on their abdomens. If so-any flying insect killer will do the job-you can get it at Wal-Mart.
If you go to Wal Mart in the cleaning ails they have bug killers. They have these fly strips that you hang from the ceiling and they land on the strips. The strips are sticky and they can 't get off.
