I have a Bissell carpet cleaner and I use whatever I like the smell of or have in the house for carpet cleaning. I don't think you need to strickly use the machine brand shampoo. As long as you follow the machine instructions for measurements you will be fine with whatever carpet shampoo you choose.
i have a vax cylinder model 6131 i use vax carpet wash they have diffrent ones for diffrent jobs works well for me!
I use the bulk shampoo from Godfreys in the machine I hire twice a year from Bunnings instead of there small, extremely expensive shampoo.
They also have other great bulk cleaning products.
