Nothing has worked so far! JUST HOW DO I remove whiteboard/dry wipe marker pen stains from my son's clothing?
Brown casual trousers with a purple pen stain and green school sweatshirt with various colours felt tip pens.all need stain removing. My washing machine is only 9 months old, I'm washing at 40 degrees as per manu's instructions and including any sprays, crystals or powders in the wash.but still the stains are there! HELP!
Answers:
use rubbing alcohol, paper towels, and cotton balls. place the paper towel ON TOP OF the pen marks on the outside of the garment. Keep it there - it will soak up the excess alcohol, preventing the marked areas from "bleeding" out. Now take some alcohol soaked cotton balls and dab at the stain FROM THE INSIDE of the garments. Its important to change cottonballs frequently cuause the pen marks will transfer to the cottonballs, Rinse the spot by hand with cold water. Repeat if necessary until stains are gone.
I myself have never known anything to get that out of clothing. Have you tried hairspray? But, then that probably won't work now that you have washed the articles. It does work on ink pen marks, if you use it right away before washing. I guess I would remove the markers and felt-tip pens from your son and replace them with washable markers only.
hi there, put a little washing powder on the stain neat, and add a little water rub in powder, fold garment and pop in a plastic bag for 24 hours, then wash as normal in the machine, tried and tested many times, also worked for dried in red wine stain, believe it or not milk is also good for removing biro stains, probably wont work with felt pens though,, gl xx
i had the same problem try brake disc cleaner it removes everything use a small amount and elbow grease i used this on permanent marker and it removed it completly
Just adding to the other answers, My 2yo just drew all over a sofa cover with a white board marker, and I used acohol wipes(I'm a nurse) from the back with a few layers of toilet paper at the front. Worked a treat! Kept moving the toilet paper to soak the stain into a fresh part. Wish I had a bottle of rubbing alcohol, but this worked fine.
