How to get set in blood stains out of denim?
Question:I got a bloody nose and it splattered on my jeans. This was Friday, it's now Wednesday, so the stain is set in. How can I get the blood stains out of my jeans?

DON'T USE ANY HOT WATER!!!, IT WILL PERMANENTLY SET IT. Use as little Hydrogen Peroxide as possible because it can take some of the color out then you have white or pale spots. Test a part of your jeans, on the underseam to see if you'll lose color. Then, if it seems to be safe, use a Q-tip to dab Peroxide on the blood. Give it plenty of time to bubble up. Then wash it in cold water with Laundry Soap, Clorox 2 Colorsafe Bleach, 1/2 cup 20 mule team Borax, and 1/2 cup Arm and Hammer WASHING soda (not baking). Your jeans will look as good as new. If, by some freak chance there is still some stain, purchase Zout stain remover, make sure you get the plain kind, not the kind with the Oxy Clean in it-that stuff is junk. Zout is known to take out many well set in stains.

put perioxide on the jeans where the stain is and pat it dry. Then pour more perioxide on it and wash in cold water. it should come out if not repeat again.

with cold water and laundry detergent (this will only work, if you didn't already use hot water)
i dont kno if this will work for you but i went on a hike and fell down the side of a mountain, didn't get hurt bad just scratched up my leg, but it did rip up my jeans and get them all bloody. i was scared it wouldn't come out so i refused to wash them (being my stubborn self) anyways after about three weeks i finally decided to try just washing them w/ normal detergent in the washin machine, nothing special, and it all came out. i may just be lucky but u should give it a try if you dont get any better suggestions. try poring peroxcide straight from the bottle on it. it would have been better on the fresh stian but try it any way.
Oxi clean makes a spray that works well. Spray, rub, and let it sit for awhile before washing. Make sure that the stain came out before putting them in the dryer. If not, try the process again. Heat will set a stain.
Pour some peroxide on them, then as the blood kind of boils off, pour on more, as it has faded then rinse in cold water and wash normally. Peroxide is also only like $1 a bottle and one bottle should work.
I would use a stain stick (like spray and wash stain stick), then rub blood stain together, with plenty of spray and wash on it. Do this before washing in cold water! This of course won't work if you've already washed jeans!

Use a part hydrogen peroxide and part cold water solution to pretreat the stain. Then take a brush and scrub out as much as you can. Lastly, throw into the regualr wash cycle.
Believe or not I use Joy ultra concentrated with Bleach alternative, it's dishwashing soap. It works wonders on stains. I also use Oxy Clean powder & it does the job for me. Hope this helps.. :o)
from stain removal basic guidelines; BLOOD–Soak in cold water until stain turns light brown in color. Then wash in warm soapy water. If stain persists, use hydrogen peroxide.

haiz.. bloody noses... anyway, soak it in some detergent but add in some salt k.. the salt helps dissolve blood..

Soak the jeans in cold water overnight; then wash in warm water, with the final rinse set to cold. Check them before you dry them (or it really WILL be set in), but that should get the vast majority of the blood out.
I use era detergent and have to get blood stains out often. I put era directly on the stain and scrub for as long as I can. When washing in cold water let it soak for a time. It's worked for me, hope it does for you.
Soak your jeans in cold water & maybe you can rub some laundry detergent on the blood stains before you soak the jeans. Era &Tide are great for removing blood stains, if that's what you use. Once the stains have come out, wash in the washing machine.
hair spray. get the cheapest kind. the smellier, the better. trust me get like suave or something like that. off brands are good too. but if its cheap it means it works for what you want. spray it on there, a lot of it. it will stick to the blood. then wash the jeans as normal. good.
Peroxide... lots & lots of it
Don't wash it until you have poured a lot of peroxide on the blood... leave overnight and then rinse with cold water & pour more peroxide on it
I always keep peroxide on hand.. my son used to get bloody noses often and I am a woman... so the need to treat does come up
always best for future to keep some handy & put it on blood as soon as you can without letting the stain set in
Try soaking your jeans in cold, cold water and rub salt directly onto the stain. Leave for twenty-fours hours and do the process again.

biological stain removers are available in the laundry supply isle, let soak in over night and give it a whirl. if that is no good, go to walmart and get new ones
