How do I remove the smell of perfume from a paperback book?
Question:My niece sprayed perfume on the covers of my books. Oddly enough, one of them was titled Perfume.
Answers:
You could try putting the book inside a large tightly closing bin, with several crumpled newspapers all around it, and allowing it to sit for a few days. The newspaper will usually absorb the odor, however, you may need to repeat the process several times. Each attempt will lessen the odor, until it is completely dissipated. Hope this works. It worked for one I had that had sat in a musty shed for years.
Throw them out and next time keep a closer eye on your niece.
try sprinkling baking soda between the pages. You may have to repeat several times, though. They say baking soda is the odor remover. I guess you'll find out. If it doesn't work, give Arm n' Hammer a piece of your mind!
I don't think there is anything you can use to remove it. It will probably just have to wear off.
