How do you get finger nail polish out of the carpet?

Question:I just droped a tan fingernail polish on my blue carpet. I tried fingernail polish remover, but that didn't do much good.
What can I use to get that out?
Please help.
thanks!

Answers:
Fingernail polish landing on the carpet rather than on your nails might seem like a manicure disaster. But before you start cutting out the stain with your cuticle scissors, try this simple homespun solution.
Instructions

Step One
Pour dry cleaning fluid over the stain.

Step Two
Blot with a dry, white cloth

Step Three
Apply a small amount of mild liquid detergent to the stain.

Step Four
Blot again with the cloth.

Step Five
Flood the stain with water.

Step Six
Blot again with the cloth.

Step Seven
Pour a small amount of ammonia on the stain.

Step Eight
Blot again.

Step Nine
Apply a little more liquid detergent to the stain.

Step Ten
Blot again.

Step Eleven
Flood the area with water.

Step Twelve
Blot one last time.
Tips & Warnings

* Dry cleaning fluid can be purchased at a home supply store or a dry cleaners.
* Always test the cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area of the carpet before applying them to a large area.
* Use a white cloth rather than a colored one to prevent any dyes from coming off on the carpet.
* As you blot, keep turning the cloth so that you are using a clean, dry section to pick up the stain and the cleaning fluids from the carpet. Don't rub.
* If using a brush to help clean the stain, always brush from the outer edges of the spill inward to prevent the stain from spreading.
* Do not use nail-polish remover as it may bleach the carpet.

Overall Things You'll Need

* Dry Cleaning Fluid
* Soft Dry Cloth
* non bleach, non alkaline mild detergent
* Ammonia

Try paint thinner or a glue stripper.You could also get a dye and make it blue. Could just cut it out and get a new piece (worst comes to worst)
scrape what you can, if its dry you'll probably have to cut it out. Try hotspot carpet cleaner tho'
You can try with alcohol, or freeze it off. Put a few ice cubes in a plastic bag and rub. Then scrape off with a blunt knife
