How do you get silly putty off of the fur of a stuffed animal?

Put the stuffed animal in the freezer, once frozen the
silly putty should "chip" off ,still not easy to remove but once you get the majority of it off ( it may take 2-3 freezes) then put some WD-40 on it & rub the rest off.
then wash on gentle cycle or if not machine washable just rinse with soap & water untill the WD-40 is off.
