Does anybody know how to get the smell of dog pee out of carpet?

Question:I shampooed the carpet twice and sprayed some pet odor neutralizer on it but it isn't working. Then I heard if you sprinkle arm and hammer on it and vaccumm it up that it would take out the smell but that didn't work either. Any other suggestions?

Answers:
There's a special arm & hammer pet deoderizer that works great. Sprinkle on the carpet and vaccuum. Sometimes regular baking soda is not enough to do the trick!

Good luck!

i use that product called hot shot,, it takes care of all oders and stains,, great product,, also recommend mean green
Make a 50/50 mix of clear ammonia and water and clean the area with that. It won't take the color out. It takes blood out of clothing too.
I suggest you go to a janitor supply store and get a carpet cleaner they use in school and hospitals that will get the smell out of the carpet. Also I use a product in my home called Oda Ban. Oda Ban is a good disinfectant and good with bad odors. The only place that I have purchased oda ban is at Sam's Club. I think Wal-Mart has it too. This is what I use on my carpet for pet stains like when they get sick. Last spring my puppy went on the carpet a few times Oda Ban was great cleaning and getting the urine smell out of my carpet too.
Try vinegar. It can take sour milk smells out of car upholstery, so it just might work.
I have tried many products and home mixes to try and remove pet urine odors from carpet. None have worked 100% until I found Zero Odor. I found it one day searching the internet and ordered some and have been using it ever since. If you really want to eliminate odors of almost any kind, try this product.
we use enzyme cleaner that my husband has at work - he cuts meat and they use it on the drains to get the rotten meat to drain down the sink. It's citrusy and the pee will still smell for the first day, but after that you can't tell at all - ACTUALLY, we use it for the cat pee which is much more difficult smell to get out of the rug, but it works everytime.
Sounds like the urines is in the padding, or even penetrated the floor underneath. I'm afraid, if this is so, you are going to have to remove the carpet and pad. If it's in the floor, too, the floor will have to be sealed before you replace the carpet. I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't sound like it.
eucalptus oil and wool wash in hot water works every time you do not have to rinse it out rather wipe it out with a dry towel. it also kills the bacteria and that what leaves the smell behind it also destroys the feromone that is left behind so the animal will not pee again in the same place
