Cleaning carpets?

Question:What's the best way to re-vitalise carpets without shampooing them?

Answers:
Chem Dry cleaning them (kind of like dry cleaning for clothes, but for carpets). They can also be re-dyed to look new or change the color.

Also you can spray a bunch of Fabreeze on them, or carpet powder that you sprinkle on and then vacuum up but it will only make it smell better for a bit, and does not address the real problem of dirt mildew etc.

If you have time, spot clean the most obvious stains with water and pine-sol (on your hands and knees with a scrub brush). The added bonus is that it makes your house smell great
Woolite may have a carpet cleaner and you could spot-treat certain areas by hand. Use a white washcloth so you don't transfer any dye to the carpet.
carpets will never get clean. Wrip them out and get hardwood floors
Steam
STEAM-VACCUM!
Baking soda.works really well.

And you should try steam cleaning your carpets.
