One of my favourite tops has gone all static, how do I get it un-static?

What is the fiber content? My guess is that it is some sort of synthetic like nylon or polyester. Synthetics have very low levels of absorbency and low absorbency leads to static build up.
You can:
1) wash again and add a dryer sheet to the dryer this time
2) spray a little bit of water on the shirt to add some moisture

do u have dryer softner sheets? Rub it all over it.. it should help. Old trick we did when r slips would stick to the dress & panty hose.
Either use a dryer sheet or fabric softener when it is washed This will help also wash but hang up to dry The dryer sometimes causes static
Use some hair conditioner in your rinse cycle.
