i saw something on t.v. that said a hand help steamer/iron used on the mattress kills bed bugs
wash your bedding thoruoghly and make sure the room is not full of moisture. also, check to see that there is no food around. if i were you i would buy new bedding and a bed!!
Hoover the matress, or iron it on a hot setting! Perhaps do the latter then hoover, it works!
I would suggest you get a powder you can use which you can later remove with a vacuum cleaner.
If it's bad and depending on the age of your mattress... I would suggest getting a new one. You should replace your mattress every so many years.
Give the mattress a good hoover.
If the mattress is 10 years or older, get a new one and vacuum the bed every other day, change the sheets every other day.
drown them.
Was watching a program the other day that said you should 1) vacuum mattresses well 2) spray with lysol or other such product 3) cover with plastic/vinyl/whatever mattress protector with zip 4) launder and change sheets often ... doing these things will help greatly
fire!! burn them and everything they have infested. start with new stuff.
buy a new bed
CLOROX
burn the bed buy a new 1
A dyson hoover should clear them up.
Do it often as this will help to prevent any lava hatching and breeding.
Also, air your bed daily. Shake the duvet and make the bed. It helps to keep air circulating and creating a less hospitable bredding ground.
Don´t waste your time with powder´s and hoovers & all the rest . buy a new mattress. When you do buy it make sure you buy a mattress cover to go on top. Hoover the mattress every week when you change your sheets.
you can buy a bedding spray at walmarts.
remove everything and wash
while washing spray the bed..
get two cans spray one and wait a day or two and respray should take care of that
Getting rid of them requires persistence. Bed bugs hide in extremely small cracks, crevices and corners, making it difficult to locate breeding sites. They come out at night.
Believ it or not Bed bug females lay about 300 eggs.
Bed bugs hatch from eggs in 10 days.
Now how to get rid of them..clean the home using
kleen green enzymes Not a Pesticide or Insecticide children and pet safe
does not producetoxic fumes
safe on beds and furniture!
extremely economical and it is more effective and safer than poison based products.Insects are made up of a high concentration of protein. When Kleen Green is introduced to the insect, the enzymes act and can cause the insect to molt (shed its outer coating) prematurely. Poison pesticides attack the nervous system of the insect, which is not always effective. University research has noted that some insects have developed a resistance to poison based products.
Bug Bombs" or total release aerosol insecticides for bed bugs
Avoid the use of pesticides or insecticides if at all possible.
Never apply insecticides or pesticides to bedding (sheets, blankets, bed spreads
TO MAKE A BED BUG SPRAY
MIX 4 OZ. KLEEN GREEN WITH 28OZ. OF WATER

Apply a light mist to the entire mattress. Pay particular attention in spraying mattress seams, buttons and tears. Don't forget to treat the bottom of the mattress, box springs and bed frame.
The objective is not the quantity of spray used, but rather the proper placement of the enzyme cleaner.
Concentrate on spraying cracks, crevices and corners! BE THOROUGH.
Inspect and spray along baseboards, window frames, wall paper edges, heat registers and other mouldings. As it may be impossible to penetrate all hiding places immediately, control may not be immediate and bugs may be seen for several days after treatment.
Vacuum thoroughly.
Check behind pictures, drapes, wall sockets and even closets.
ATTENTION APARTMENT/CONDO RESIDENTS: Plumbing and heating pipes are like a freeway for a bed bug! Caulk or seal any space around these pipes. Then vacuum and spray Kleen Green librally all cracks, crevices and corners.

May be used as often as needed.

Tips for Bedbug Removal in the Home

They cannot crawl up smooth surfaces. Remove bedskirt if you have one. Coat legs of bed with light coating of Vaseline or place legs of bed in glass containers.
IRON your mattress - especially the edges!
After misting mattress with Kleen Green Enzyme cleaner - wrap mattress in plastic.
Wash and/or dry bedding and towels - daily if necessary.
Use small amount (about 1/2 oz.) of Kleen Green in a steam vac for superior cleaning
Persistence in spraying daily may be necessary for several days.
Use vacuum attachments to clean cracks and crevices. Caulk or seal these openings permanently.
Inspect dresser drawers - wash and/or dry clothing if necessary.
Use canned air or hair dryer on high hot heat to 'blow out' tight areas such as ornate wood headboards
TIP: Plumbing or radiator type heaters with piping in the floor is an entrance into your apartment from another apartment for bedbugs. Secure any space around plumbing or heating elements with caulking, aluminum foil or steal wool to prevent these travelers coming into your home.
You can buy the kleen green on the internet or in some stores. Or you can call an exterminator too. Good Luck.
You cannot get rid of bed bugs by vaccuming!! You have to get the whole place fumigated proffesionally. You cannot kill them by steam cleaners either!! also, it wont be just the beds that are infested if you have them- ALL soft furnishings will be infested even teddy bears, cusions etc, so i would suggest getting either the council or a proffesional pest controller, you have to remove all the furniture, beds etc, the only way is to burn all these items.
Call the health department of your council they will be able to do it or pass on details of a reliable pest control company in your area.
Best solution is to heat the bedding , bed, soft furnishings etc to kill the bugs and their eggs and treat the house with a residual insecticide.
This will cost about £1500 for a 3 bedroom house.
If you are lucky your household insurance policy may cover this cost. Try their helpline first, it could save you a few pounds.
sun the mattresses or pillows. hunt them down bug by bug and each and every eggs. spraying don't help much.
two choices

get rid if your not on a tight budget

steam cleaner

make sure its quick decision as they can bite
Buy a new bed and mattress. To otherwise rid yourself of this menace would entail fumigating your bedroom, not a pleasant thing to do.
Treat your mattress with an insecticide for the bugs then hoover it. You could also ask your local environmental health to fumigate your house, they will do it for free. Make sure your bed is stripped down when they do this.
