i am sitting here thinking poor you, i hate vomit in any form and i'm thinking of something..
ok if your couch is on the older side you might not want use too harsh of a detergent maybe try a wool wash in warm water and maybe try a few drops of fragrant oil in with the water but test it on a spot so you can determine wether the oil will stain. if worst comes to worse you may have to hire a carpet cleaning machine they have attachments for couches. goodluck try not to spew yourself!!
coffee grounds it works on everything. my lil sis spilled a milkshake in my car mid summer put a paper towel down damp them, let them sit a few min and scrub
Unzip the cushion (if you can) and throw the cover in the wash on gentle cycle. Let air dry. Then take the cushion out side and soak it down with hot soapy water, juyst scrub it well and let air dry. Once it all drys, spray with Lysol and put the cover back on. Give your brother a bowl or bucket next time he can't make it to the bathroom, hope he feels better! :)
Pat away water-soluble stains
You can lift out many water-soluble stains -- including beer, orange and other fruit juices, black coffee or tea, and vomit by patting the spot with a cloth or towel moistened with undiluted white vinegar
Unset old stains
after being pretreated with a solution of 3 tablespoons white vinegar and 2 tablespoons liquid detergent in 1 quart (1 liter) warm water. Rub the solution into the stain, then blot it dry if couch is cloth then you can use a hairdryer to dry the wet spot thoroughly being careful not to hold the dryer to cloth or else you could burn or cause a watermark. Good Luck !
have your couch steam cleaned
