Anyone know of a good carpet sanitizer and odor eliminator?
Question:My landlords had to do some work on my toilet pipes from problems the previous tennant caused, without going into gross details my carpet (yes they have carpet in the bathroom, don't know why) smells like urine. I don't want something that will just cover up the odor I want something that will kill the germs too. Thanks for any help. (perhaps a cleaner for pet urine remover)
Renting as steam cleaning machine is out of the question and demanding my landlords take care of it is out of the question

In a instance like this, for the time and labor you would spend it is much better to have a carpet cleaner come in and clean it, most of them run specials on multiple rooms.
Replacing will be a better alternative. I would not step on it after what spilled on it. Don't you think?
try using the powder they sell at pet co or pets smart they have one that is used for pets im sure that will get rid of some smell. also the arm and hammer powder for carpets i personally use glade carpet powder it smells great and kepps my house smeeling so good. also you might need to try to clean it with carpet cleaner to take the smell away
oh yeah just to let you know there will always be a smell there b/c tyhe carpet absorbs the urine or whatever until the carpet is changed also you nay want to use plug ins
I have solved this problem before by using one of the enzymatic cleaners. Anything that says enzyme or enzymatic in the label would do, but I prefer the Oxiclean type. Also, a pet odor/urine elminator might do, especially one based on enzymes. Good luck!
Go to a pet supply store. They should be able to help you.
Try using a product called Pet-tastic. You find it in most pet stores. Saturate the area and let it dry. I use it on my funiture for when my children fall asleep on the couch and wet through.
