Spilled red candle wax on my good pair of jeans!?
Question:Is there any way to get it out? Any help/advice will be much appreciated-they are the only pair of jeans I have left that still fit me at the moment!! It spilled on the carpet too but the pants are my main concern right now. :[

You need a iron and lots paper (paper bags). Place the paper bag on the wax and iron it. The wax will transfer to the paper. You can do the same the carpet...
Peel any of the wax that is on the surface off. The getting some paper towels, fold up several and put them inside the jeans under the spot. Put a couple more on top of the spot and using a hot iron with no steam, iron over it. then move the paper towels and repeat until no more wax shows up on the towels.
Then using a pretreater - I like the new dual cleaner from Shout, it seems to take everything out - washt he jeans like you would normally. It should work just fine.
OR you can take then to the cleaners - they can get it out.
I would not repreat this with the carpet though - your carpet is plastic fibers and will melt under the hot iron, looking even worse.
I spilled red wax on carpet. After picking off the dried wax, I simply used really hot water in a carpet cleaner to get it out. I guess the theory is that as the residual wax heated up and turned liquid, it siply got sucked out. So you my try really hot water on your jeans and Dawn as an emulsifier.
Put waxed paper over the area, apply a warm iron to it, then scrape it off with a butter knife once the wax has softened a bit. Try this technique on the carpeting too.
Try putting an old piece of material ( you can use anything you don't use or old towels work good ) then set your iron at a low heat , place the cloth over the stain and iron over top of stain . as you can see the cloth soaking in the wax replace that piece with a clean piece of cloth and continue to do so. I would suggest if you try this and you dont' get it all out , try putting the jeans in the freezer till wax has hardened and then repeat it until it all comes out. We did it on a rug and sofa and it worked well . Good Luck !
at your local hardware store or k-mart, walmart there is a cleaning solution called goo gone. it works on taking wax out of items like jeans and carpets. what you can do is this first take out all the excess wax you can peal off first. then spray the goo gone on the pair of jeans. and with a nail brush or tooth brush scrub the jeans (lightly or you will fade the color in that area) keep repeating until the stain is almost gone. then you take a solution of half shout and half clear amonia (make sure your in a ventelated area) and pretreat before washing. then wash on extremely hot water with this being the only item in the washer. check stain before drying or you will loose the battle. If stain still remains repeat steps until clean.
Hi, I did the exact same thing last night. And the only pair that fit me right also. Put some Ice on it , scrape it with a sharp Knife, then put a dab of Dawn Dish-washing liquid on it ,and wash them. It got the wax out of my jeans,Thank Goodness. Bye
