Am I the only one that has trouble getting trash bags out of the can?

Question:The bag gets jammed & is impossible to pull out. How common a problem is this - my brother and I have a bet. He says I am the only one.

Answers:
just take it out before it gets too full. no one will ever complain the Trash is getting taken out too often. :)

Your not the only one. I worked at a daycare and had the same problem. The owner showed me how to do it. Put one
hand between the bag and the side of the garbage can, push in a little and pull with the other hand. Comes right out.
it happens to me too dont trip!
The problem is that the bag is forming a seal inside the bucket. You have to allow some air in when trying to remove the bag.
that happens to me too. i imagine its not hard for your brother cuz he is probably stronger then you. when im pulling mine out i have to tug and tug and kick the trashcan just to get it out. i hate when it rips when im pulling it out =/
You are not alone. When you fill the bag inside the can you create a kind of vacuum in the can when you try to pull the bag out.
You can remedy the problem with some PCV pipe and duct tape.
Cut a piece of PCV pipe (3/8 inch inside diameter pipe will do just fine) about 1 inch shorter than the inside of the can. Sand the edges of the ends to smooth them up so they do not tear the bag. Then duct tape the pipe into the garbage can so that one end is almost even with the top lip of the can.
This will allow air to travel to the bottom of the can so it will be easier to pull out the bag.
No, you're not the only one. It's forming a seal and needs air to release it. Rubbermaid is now selling trash cans with a ventilation system in them that prevents this. I've seen them at Wal Mart.
This happens because of a vacuum caused when you try to pull upward, to relieve this pressure, try reaching one hand down the outside of bag,to let air in before or as you pull out the bag. Or pull from the center after you have closed the top of the bag and have squeezed out as much air as possible. pull straight up, you will still be able to tell when the vacuum brakes.
close the trash bag.
Tilt the garbage bin sideways on the floor.
Pull out the bag now.
This works wonders all the time.
Let me know.
LOL I have same problem. One thing I have started doing is buying a better bag so they don't rip while pulling.
i have the same problem, most people are saying its from a vacuum but i have found that it is caused by a carton of juice or something getting caught on the side of the trash can, i buy thicker bags so they wont rip and i empty the bin when its only half full, sounds like a waste but its much easier and it stops the bin from smelling so much!
