Vent hose on a dryer?
Question:is it safe to use a dryer with out a vent hose in an apartment where the washer and dryer are in a closet there are openings in the closet to let the air out but this is my first time buying a washer and dryer and did not know that they didn't come with the vent hose so i don't have one and won't be able to get one until tomorrow just wondering if anyone knew if it is safe to use a dryer with no vent hose? thanks in advance for the help

first off, dont put a nylon stocking over the vent..its a hassle and unsafe...
dont use the dryer until it is vented properly.
dust wont be the biggest problem you have, moisture will be.
the vent is designed to channel lint and moisture...if you dont get the moisture vented outside then you will most definitely end up with a mold problem.
when you do get it vented properly i still suggest drying with the closet door open, mold n moisture dont mix.

it will put out all sorts of dust. i would not do it even for a day.
It would be well worth your time to wait until you get the hose attached to do your laundry.

Don't do it. Get the vent hose first. Otherwise you will have dust all over your place.
Your clothes will take longer to dry. The humidity from the dryer has nowhere to go. With the hose, the humidity is vented outside. If it is a very small area, it will take even longer. It won't hurt anything for just one day. Over a period of time it could promote the growth of mildew in small places that you can't see. Go ahead for today, but get a hose tomorrow.
yes get a nylon stocking and place over the end of the vent so the lint doesnt fly all over your room or closet..also if theres nothing on the vent the lint can build up in the dryer and possibly cause a fire... also there has to be suffient air flow..circulation or the dryer will over heat and also fire hazard or burn up the dryer
i have also used this method with the nylon as i lived in a place that didnt have the venting for outside..i put the nylon over the vent tubing and also in the winter this does help heating a little bit
do not use the dryer without the hose. you will have dust everywhere.
