I had the same problem. I always had a dirty house cause I was just too lazy and got distracted easily. My husband and I finally have a routine that works. What we did was get a dry erase board and make a chore list. Designate a chore for every day. If you have more than one person in the house it makes it a lot easier. Ever since we've done that we've had a clean house. The only mess we have is what the cats makes every day. It makes you feel less overwhelmed when you have chores designated to a certain day. Good Luck.
I usually have two areas going at once, which keeps me a little more interested and forces me to try ans stick it out. I don't think many people would suggest it, but it works for me. Also, playing music while you're cleaning always helps keep the momentum going :)
I'm looking for an answer to that same question. My kids destroy my house... The only thing I can suggest is to bust your @$$ every night before you go to bed, cleaning the messes that were made during that day. And...do a load of laundry daily. It really sucks but at least you won't spend your days off from work just cleaning. Good luck
I got really fed-up with doing housework every day.
Now I make sure that my partner helps clean the kitchen before going to bed.
Cushions are put in proper place on the couch, books and newspapers are hidden away.
Bed is made first thing in the morning.
I used to dust every day but now only once a week, same goes for vacuuming.
But I have one really messy room . it's my office at home and i'm sitting in it now. This is my room and if I don't want to do any cleaning in here ... .great.
One day I'm going to have to ... and i'm dreading that day.
But ... once I start doing housework, room to room, I get a great feeling when it's all finished.
Flylady.net. Seriously.
Schedule cleaning different rooms during the week then wrap it all up on saturday. Example. Make sure the dishes r washed daily but moping the floors on tuesday. Washed clothes on thursdays dust the family room on saturday morinings. However u decide to schedule your cleaning please stick to it. Put a copy on the refrigerator. This is just a helpful vision for a cleaner house. Good luck.
I have a house full of kids and pets, and I am a neat freak which does not mesh. I do two pretty big things a day, like dust the downstairs and the kitchen floor, the next day I dust upstairs and change the sheets on all the bed, and so on. Daily I keep the kitchen picked up and run the vacuum but this way I don't spend one whole day cleaning the house top to bottom. I keep it maintained but wiping down counters or tables daily and keeping the kids toys isolated to one big playroom so it isn't everywhere.
I LOVE a clean house and despise clutter.First off ,get rid of the clutter, nicky nacky things that you don't use.Pick up things as soon as you are through with them don't save it for later.Don't leave dishes for later.Put them in the dish washer immediately or wash them now. Keep fridge cleaned out . Sort the mail as it comes in that way it doesn't clutter on the desk or table.Don' t leave things until later. Clean the kitchen before you go to bed. Clean it while you are cooking so there is nothing really to do but put the food away and wash the plates and silver . My house stays clean this way .I have four children and they were raised this way. When you are the last person out of bed you make it.That includes my husband. If you empty toilet paper roll, you fill it immediately.Wash out tub and shower after you use it. Same with toilet and sink. I hope this helps .It works for us.You just need to get the house clean,de-clutter if you don't use it lose it.Clean out your closets, cabinets under your beds you will be surprised at the junk you will find that you don't use.Good luck.Free cycle it.Good will, yard sale, consignment shop,E bay etc.
