How do you clean a sponge kitchen mat ?

put some water and clorox or amonia (not both) in the bathtub and allow it soak there, and then you can use some diffused light to help it dry, direct sunlight can cause it to crumble.
use a reconditioner to help put life and flexibility back into the mat.
OOOOOOH I wouldn't do that, that could ruin your kitchen mat, it is best just to wipe down with a little soap and water; something like dishwashing liquid or even baby shampoo would be a great cleaner to wash your mat. Then allow to dry by hanging over something outside to dry, do not put in the dryer this will cause the sponge to crumble and dryout or even burn or worst yet catch fire. Good Luck !
