I want to buy a dryer for my apartment. Suggestion needed.?
Question:I am moving to a building where they have the laundry room as well. But the owner of the apartment has already installed a washer in the apartment as well but NO DRYER. I was thinking to buy a dryer...but dont know which one to buy. I just need something that I could just simply plug and start using it instead of getting it installed etc. Something portable etc. Is there any such dryer jn the markets? PLease let me know. I really don;t know the mechanic of a dryer.

you need to make sure there is a dryer vent in the apartment. Otherwise it will be a big mess- it will get moist from all the heat being created.

There are portable dryers on the market but they only handle small loads. If you install a full size electric dry you need to make sure you have a 220 volt line to plug it into.
Use a solar dryer, a clothesline if possible in the back yard or from a balcony. If you can't do that, there are portable dryers you can plug into a 120V outlet. They will not be very efficient or green, however. There are also wooden racks you could use in your apartment. Put a couple of towels on the floor over a plastic dropcloth under the rack. Most all dryers need to be vented to displace the heat & moisture dried out of the clothes. I assume that is why the owner did not install a dryer-no venting for it to go outside. You might ask him if he would consider installing venting for a dryer, he may go for it if it is on an outside wall & above ground floor. He may even purchase a dryer & install it. Your rent may go up a little bit.
