How do I organize myself?

Question:I need help! I need to know how to organize myself. For example I want my house to be clean and everything in its place. However, If I can't clean the whole house at once it doesn't get done. My mother, whose house is spotless, says to take a room a day. She does this, (dust on mondays, vacuum on tuesdays, etc, etc). I have tried it and just can't. Is this a sign of laziness? I have been told that it may be obsessive/compulsive. I also can't leave things. Another example, if my kids have to be someplace, I can't leave the house half cleaned, take them, then come back and finish. I have to completely start over or leave it for the next time. My currently deployed husband will be home in 40 days for a two week leave and I want him to see a spotless house. Any ideas?

well i agree with your mom... take one cleaning part at a time..everyday do a little laundry and do the dishes ..then maybe dust the house..the next day..sweep vacuum and maybe change bedding... the 3rd day do whatever is left..and thatll give ya a few extra days to just pick up some and relax or have some fun..also you cna make yourself a schedule and put it on the refridge or someplace youll see it and do whatever ya have listed for the day..its getting yourself motivated and making yourself follow through..after a few weeks itll bea cinch..and sweetie yourmoms spotless maybe but dear it takes us moms along time to get this way ok?? weve had many years experiances...hugssss and good luck dear
you can do this!!i have faith in you

I would not use so many things in my house, and I will tell everyone who lives there to pick up after themselves. Like "return after each use" habit is also a good habit to be learned at home. It's kind of hard especially if you have kids at home - all they do is make mess out of their toys because that's their job - added to that is some adults that's doesn't experience cleaning everyday, seems they don't care.

My mother just clean when there's company coming-and everybody should be cleaning. But if it's just us, we enjoy our house and it's fun not to have a mother that's so addicted to having a clean house. It turns into fight - and it's hard. My father make sure that every weekend - we clean the house, do laundry, just clean everything - then we take a walk in the neighborhood and then we have ice cream at baskin', go home watch tv - some rooms have tv and we watch on our own if we don't like what their watching - and voila! Happy family. My mom starts to like that idea (dad's idea) and so we practice that for awhile now. Kid's doesn't get yelled at and mom is not to stressed out and my dad is happy to be home.
