After the washing and drying cycle, many of my clothes come out torn and tattered. How can I prevent this?
Question:I'm frustrated with my clothes, sheets and towels coming out of the dryer torn and tattered! It's very expensive to constantly buy replacements. I wash with tide and use 1 Downy Fabric softener when drying (and bleach for whites when washing). It could not possibly be what I wash and dry my clothes with, could it? Maybe there are rats that live in my washer/dryer? LOL...I'd love any tips/suggestions to prevent this from happening again! Thanks ppl out there in Yahoo!Answers! :)

Stop using bleach, it destroys fabric. If you must use it, cut the quantity, and rinse the machine before washing any more clothes.
Check your clothing for any peices that could tear other fabric (hooks on bras, for instance) but I really do think the bleach is the culprit.
well it depends on how old the sheets and objects are...if their old old and you use bleach then yes it could very well do this..make sure you read the directions on the articles and are washing the clothes an drying on the right cycles...items thats constantly replaced does get very expensive ...so read directions . and then go by them..good luck and heres ahug sweetie
It could be what you wash your clothes with. Do you wash towels in one load, sheets in another and clothes by color? Sometimes zippers and buttons get caught on other clothes or towels. Make sure you have your clothes buttoned or zipped before throwing them in the wash. Also check the inside of your washer and dryer to make sure there is nothing for them to get caught on like a loose part.
you may need to replace your washing machine if it is tearing your stuff. It my mean the agitator is messed up and that would cost you more to have it fixed and so buy you a new one or a good used one that what I would suggest. my washing machine don't even work at all but I am getting a good used one in a few weeks. good luck. Do what I suggest before you ruin more clothes I agree it is expensive to buy more stuff I know what sheets cost here. take care suzie
