Hair dye on a carpet??
Question:I got black hair dye on my carpet...is there any tips on getting it out? It has dryed already...
Answers:
You do have hope... a product called Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover. It looks like a generic bottle (not fancy or colorful) and I found it at my grocery store. It has cleaned hair dye, paint, and *everything* that has spilled on our white carpet. If the spot is extra large (like the paint in my son's room), it will take a couple of treatments... but it does work. You'll be amazed!
i think u have got 2 hopes.... bob hope and no hope of getting that out your carpet...sorry..xxx
try sard wonder soap and scrub and soak and scrub and soak some more...
Maybe try some laundry stuff like Oxy Clean (spray/put on the stain) and then spray hair spray on top of it, scrub and repeat from start. This would be a 90% guaranteed if not dried already.
You can try scrubing it with a light mixture of laundry detergent and bleach but i don't think it will come out, my daughter used to drip hair color everywhere nad it would never come out of anything.
i have been told blotting the stain with 'Rubbing Alcohol' works, make sure you use a clean white cloth though otherwise you may end up with more dye on your carpet
To clean stains on a carpet: mix equal parts of vinegar, lemon juice and salt or use Shaving cream, just spray on a leave for a minute, then dob up the stain with the shaving cream, then reapply a little more shaving cream rub it in gently until shaving cream disappears then wait until dry when dry just vacuum up, stain should be gone
Good Luck !
New carpet I am afraid,if you have insurance this can be claimed under accidental damage. If not,you will have to look around for a bargain!
brake disc cleaner gets rid of most things i used this on a fake tan stain on my cream carpet and it worked
Hello Jennifer, I think the best thing you can do is replace this damaged area of carpet. It will be almost impossible to clean the carpet, I can suggest this. Cut the damaged part out of carpet with a sharp trimming knife or safety razor blade , to expose the backing beneath. Cut enough matching tufts to fill the hole from a place where it will not show. Example. from under heavy furniture, or inside a closet. Or if you have a spare piece of matching carpet. Dab the bottom of the hole and the tufts with a suitable latex adhesive, then insert the tufts into the hole . Leave to dry, then trim if necessary and brush to blend with pile. Hope this helps you
The only thing you can do is buy a new carpet. Or you could ring your local carpet cleaners for advice, they will come out and clean your carpet for a charge of £20-25. Good luck
