How do I "surface wash"?

Question:I recently bought a small furry crocodile toy for my cousin, but he doesn' know how to wash it. The only thing the tag reads about washing is that it can be "surface washed". What does "surface washing" mean?

Answers:
As others have stated, don't put it in a washing machine. If it's furry, use a foaming rug cleaner on it and it should be okay. Otherwise, use Woolite or a weak solution of liquid dish soap, applied lightly, foamed up and rinsed off with a warm sponge.

I think just washing the outside and not putting it like in a washing machine.
it means that the toy should not be submersed into water. just take a damp rag clean with that, and maybe a cleaning agent.
It means you do not put it in water. You would get a wet cloth and go over the surface of it...you are basically 'wiping it down'.
Soap and water lightly with sponge. Rinse off with clean water gently with minimum amount of water. Air dry.
