Organizing Wardrobe...?
Question:Heya,
I am organizing my wardrobe, and I was wondering what the rules for keeping clothing are? Like, if you haven't worn the item in x-amount of months than you don't need it - things like that.
I have gone through it twice already, and have filled a small bag of things to throw out, a rubbish bag of things to donate, and packed away winter clothes, but I know I am still pack-ratting many things as I always think 'maybe I will need it' and am constantly impulse buying items - I'm especially bad when it comes to sales!

I am the same way I tend to buy things on a spur of the moment when I see a sale. Lately items haven't been fitting so they are an easy give away. That old pair of black pants can be replaced and clothes you wont wear again or only wore once. But that's obvious. Maybe you should make a pile of items you want to keep and items you only wore a few times. Remember if the clothing item you've worn in the past looks good on you and you've had complements keep it. Otherwise if its something you don't like the color on you even if its really cute give it away or take it back if you can. There is nothing wrong with that. Try on some of the clothes if they don't look right or fit right get rid of them.
A good trick for items on hangers is to turn all the hangers backwards. Then choose an amount of of time, like one season or 6 months. As you wear the items, turn the hangers around. You will then see at the end of the period what clothes you didn't wear, and it will make it easier to decide to get rid of them. For items in a dresser, I just move them from drawer to drawer as I wear them.
Above ideas are good ones.
There are also ways to store more clothes in your closet. Multiple items on one hanger. Folding more things on to shelves outside of your closet.
