Answers:
RUBBING ALCOHOL w/a lint-free cloth.
Put a tablespoon of white vinegar to a spray bottle full of water, works fine.
try acetone, it's great for glass, try on a small area first, avaliable at your local hardware store in the painting section.
I was told to use a mixture of 3 parts water and 1 part alcohol. mix, spray and wipe with a soft cloth. never use paper towels. they scratch.
i use my steam cleaner. the steam cuts tar, grease, dirt, etc. / just wipe it dry.
Mix water and vinegar and then spray onto the glass. Then screw some newspaper into a ball and use this to clean the glass with. This will remove all the smears from the glass and leave it looking the best you have ever seen.
Your hands may go black because of the ink in the paper but this comes off with soap.
I clean houses for extra money. One house I do has plexiglass for windows. The gal that I clean for will do the windows and mirrors and she found out just a warm damp cleaning towel then dry with a dry cloth. For some reason Windex streaks plexiglass.
Also use cotton cleaning towel or rag.
