How can I get the smell of smoke out of my clothes?
Question:I dont smoke myself - i cant stand it! I hate the smell!
My mom and I frequently share clothes as we are the same size and she was pretty young when she had me so our styles are sourt of the same.
After washing clothes I hang them up to dry in our laundry room. My mom will walk into the laundry room (where we also keep things like jackets, coats, hoodies) and grab one of my clean hoodies so that she can go outside and smoke (she does NOT smoke in the house)...
Even though she only does this once, and it IS outside - i can smell the smoke! I dont want to have to wash the hoodie all over again just becuase of a faint smell...but usually i DO end up washing it all over again.
I am going out in a few hours and have a hoodie that i really wanted to wear that now smells like smoke. Is there any way that I can get this smell out??
**I dont want to aks my mom not to do this - because like I said, I wear her clothes as well.

The quickest way to get a smell out of clothes, is to hang it outside for a little while. Febreze or perfume will just mask the smell. If you have a dryer, then chuck it in there for a couple minutes with a dryer sheet. Why not get one of your old hoodies, and use it as her 'smoking jacket'? Hang it up for her, and tell her you found a hoody that you'd like her to have. Hopefully she'll use that instead.
Idunno..maybe try febreeze??
i dont know what theyre called but on a website i saw this electric hanger that gets the smoke smell out of clothes. sorrry i dont remember what its called but good luck!
I think the best thing to do it use Febreeze. But I would hang one hoody for her to use in the laundry room, that way she could use it over and over without getting a freshly laundered hoody all stinky. Maybe you could decorate it and have it say "Mom's Smok'n Jacket" or something cheesy like that. Wrap it up and give to her as a present so she will be all happy and be like "My baby got me a present!"
You can hang the hoodie outside or near an open window after your mom has worn it. Or leave one in the laundry room that is her designated 'smoking jacket', and put the rest of the clean ones away in your closet. You can purchase an ionizer that you put in the laundry room and switch it on to deodorize your clothes & the room.
Yes there is. If you put baking soda in the laundry with your clothes it will take the smoke smell out of your clothes. You can also put dryer sheets in you closet and dressor drawers.
