What do you clean windows with that does not leave streaks.?
Question:
Answers:
White vinegar. Mix a cup of vinegar with a 1/4 cup of water. Wipe on with paper towels, dry with newspapers. This cuts through even nicotine.
Use a quality window cleaner (not store brand) and instead of towels, use newspapers to wipe the glass clean. Newspaper won't leave streaks.
I cleaned the windows and mirrors all through beauty school to pay for a portion of my tuition. I used 2% alcohol, it cleaned off the hairspray the best. Dry each window in only one direction on the outside and the opposite direction for the inside. If you do get any streaks, it will tell you which side of the window the streak is on.
Ammonia mixed with water also works good.
windex and a bounty paper towel
white vinegar and newspaper
try newspaper and white vineger!
go to a local car store supplier and ask for "Invisible Glass" made by : more shine products. may have to try a couple stores, not all have it. Worth the price and it's weight in gold!
or moreshine.com I order direct in case packs of 12.
White vinegar works best, although it smells horrible...
Also, instead of paper towels, use newspaper. The first time someone told me to do that I thought they were crazy but I tried it and it does work. =)
I use the concoction that Kate B uses and add a couple drops of dish-washing soap. Then I use a small squeegee, the kind you buy for showers. I find it to be a much easier way than all the rubbing.
Go to the local newspaper and pick up an endroll of plain newspaper. Shouldn't cost more than $2 or $3. That and a bottle of Windex will clean your windows.
I will use just about any type of window cleaner but wash it with newspaper...it really works the best.
I have also used the windex wipes...they work well but for a less expensive way use the newspaper.
Everyone does it differently and not everything works for everyone for some reason. what i use to not only clean windows, but also to polish the grand piano at the theater i work at is windex or some window cleaner that sprays... but use a nice cloth... something smooth...
hope that works for you :)
Homemade window cleaners :
Recipe 1- 1 cup white vinegar
4 Litres of water (8.5 pints)
Recipe 2 - 1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup household ammonia
4 Litres water (8.5 pints)
Recipe 3- 1 cup metholated spirits
1 cup water
Follow the simple steps...
*Always use a clean cloth
*To prevent windows from fogging up rub a little glycerine after cleaning them
*When glass is not too dirty; wipe them first with wet newspaper then with a dry one. The ink from the paper gives them a polish.
*Never clean with a dry cloth as the dirt might scratch glass
*Never use soap on glass as it smears and is hard to get off.
**Remember to have the correct tools

water with just a miniscule amount (a drop or two per small bucket)of dish soap works great when you sponge it on and remove with a squeegee.
