Are their any magnets in a washer machine and what do they do?

Question:

Answers:
Yes.
All motors have a magnet in them, whethere a permanent one (most likely) or one induced by an electric current (less likely). The door catch might have a magnet in it. The control circuits might have relays (depending on the age of the machine) that contain a solonoid that have magnets in.

Lots of magnets.

Permanent magnet - the lump of black rock that sticks to steel
Induced magnet - a normal iron rod with wire rapped round it, when electricity flows through the wire the iron becomes a magnet

aren't solenoids something to do with magnets?
