Is there a such thing as non toxic cleaning products? Are they really safe?

Question:Such as Melaleuca, Shaklee, etc. I looked at some of the ingredients of some of these products and some of them have similiar ingredients as the so called toxic products being sold in regular stores. Shaklee has a concentrated supposedly all natural germicide I do more coughing than cleaning with this product. As for Melaleuca I am not sure if all the cleaning products are really non toxic, or "natural. Are these companies just out to get money, or are their products really safer than some of the leading brand name companies such as Pine Sol, Lysol, Clorox. Or are these so called natural companies using scare tactics to get you financially involved with them?

Answers:
I use a product that I get at Sam's Club called ODOBAN. It smells great is non toxic (I have 2 dogs and a cat) and cleans everything. One product does everything. Also.good old fashioned white vinegar and water works like a charm.Hope this helped!

White distilled vinegar is a popular and cheap household cleanser, effective for killing most mold, bacteria, and germs, due to its level of acidity. Cleaning with white distilled vinegar is a smart way to avoid using harsh chemicals. You’ll also be glad to know that it is environmentally friendly and very economical. I use vinegar for years. Recipe 1/2 water 1/2 vinegar + one drop of dish detergent , put in a spray bottle . Wash everything with it:windows, counter tops,tables,cabinets,ovens,mic... (tile or carpet) and also great to wash fruits or vegetables , it remouves dirt and pesticides .
never underestimate the cleaning power of vinegar, and baking soda. What one doesn't clean the other will.
Use just a little dish soap on the oily messes
You can clean EVERYTHING with

Baking Soda
Boraz (yep natural ingredient & good for Earth)
Fels Naptha and/or Octagon and/or Zote
Vinegar
Hydrogen Peroxide
Citric Acid (also natural)

and for hardwoods: Olive oil with lemon juice

There is nothing that I have found in my home, car, etc... that requires more than these things

If I really have to go all out for some reason
OdoBan and/or PurplePower and/or SimpleGreen

these are all biodegradble and not harmful to our water supply

Do not use "anti-bacterial" that isn't safe for our water supply... same is true with Bleach & phosphates

okay & then there is me and my family... for cleaning people, I use Dr Bonners or BlackSoap
I actually work with a company that uses all natural products,

example: vinegar, water, hydrogen peroxide, natural dish soap, baking soda and borax.

if you want you can check out the site it has some interseting things on there that you can learn from chemical products to natural products.
