Does anybody know how to remove odors from plastic dishes.?

Question:I made an awsome salsa, but know all I can smell is onions, pepers & garlic. I have tried soaking it in hot water & cold water. Also with some lemon juice & dish soap. My dad told me to try freezing the bowl. Nothing has helped.

Answers:
Put baking soda in some very hot water and then put the plastic dishes in the water. Baking soda is a natural odor absorber. I use it all the time.

Try a bleach solution. put a capfull or 2 of bleach in your dishwater, and let it soak for about 30 minutes. It will remove the stains and the smell.

good luck!
I fill plastic containers with baking soda. I let them sit like that for a few days or more. Then I toss the soda. If it is still smelly, I do it again. Usually works well.

I have also used bleach, but that is harder on the plastic and may reduce its durability in th long run. Depends on how much you re-use you plastic containers I guess!
