Baking soda won't come out of carpet!?

Question:sprinkled carpet with baking soda to remove musty odour, it must have been damp, because now the baking soda is imbedded.have tried wire brush and vacumning with no result.

Answers:
You need to have your carpet steamed cleaned to absorbed the moisture. Next time, make sure your carpet isn't damp.

Pour a little vinegar in a small area. See if you can dab it up while foaming.
the people who lived in my house before I moved in -lived by using powders on the carpet floors... I have lived there a few months now and I am still picking up some kind of powder from them. I vacuum many times a week I think only time will tell if it will all come up or not.
I have a feeling the only thing you can do now it to rent a steam cleaner and go over the area. I hope this helps.
