Please help!! I left my crockpot on overnight after remiving the meat and now it is burnt on to the surface.?
Question:I cooked chicken breasts in my crockpot and forgot to turn it off after removing the chicken, now the spices and juice have burnt to the bottom. What if anything will clean it??
Answers:
I have had this happen to me too. Fill it with Hot tap water, 1 cup vinegar and dish soap. Let stand over night. Not only will you not have to scrub, but it will be cleaner than it has since you bought it. I would recommend buying the crockpot insert bags. They really cut down on clean up. You can get them in the same section as ziplock bags in the grocery store.
Add some water to the pot and let it stand for a while--then just use a good old fashioned SOS cleaning pad
Been there, done that. I soaked with hot water and used a plastic scrubby to loosen the stuff. You may have to do it several times. One particularly icky mess my mother created required putting water into the crock pot, putting the pot back on and heating it. Eventually the stuff came loose, but you have to be careful so you don't scratch it. The goal is to get moisture into the grody stuff and then it comes loose. Final stuff can come off with that Eraser product. DO NOT USE AN SOS pad, or you will ruin the finish on your crockpot.
add hot water and like a dawn dishliquid..turn bak on high and let sit for awhile..should come right off...
hot water, dish soap, and let it warm up on high, then switch to low while checking it. When it gets soft, you can wash it and get it out.
I agree with the vinegar and dish soap let sit in crock-pot over night. Also I have used baking soda with the vinegar too. It will loosen up the burnt part .
