Fabric Softner leaves stains on my clothes...?
Question:I love fresh smelling clothes after using liquid fabric softners, but it seems to leave stains on my nice clothes. I've tried drier sheets, but the scent isn't as strong. Any suggestions on how to get the new stains out and how to prevent it in the future?

You are using too much fabric softener, and not possibly not
putting it in the washer correctly. Washers vary; read your manual. Cut out Fabric softener for a while. Pre treat your
fabric softener stains with laundry detergent; let set about
30 minutes to an hour. then wash in the hottest water the
fabric will take. Line dry--or put on a hanger and dry on the shower rod. If the stain came out, good. If not, repeat
the process. I'd add Oxy-clean triple action liquid stain remover as well. Good Luck.
dude, come on, man up and just use dryer sheets. anyways its annoying when you smell like a walking laundry basket
It's not really a stain. It's just your fabric softener. Just rewash the clothes and it will come out.
Now the reason you're getting the fabric softener stains? You are either making your loads of laundry to big (too many items per water level) for the amount of fabric softener. Try limiting your load size for the full cap of softener or for small loads use more water.
You can us a stain remover to probably remove old stains. When its time to add the fabric softner, add it 2 the water and not directly on the clothes. When it comes in direct contact with your clothes it leasves a stain so mix it in the water around your clothes and that should eliminate your stain problem
Make sure you are adding the fabric softner after the water in rinse cycle has filled. don't pour directly on clothing. make sure you are not adding more softner than recommended on back of bottle. Also if you are washing clothing with the wrong load size or with to many items in washer this will happen the water needs to be over top of all articles of clothing before adding softner
do not use as much
put your freshner in after the washer fills up then add
Fabric softener can leave stains if your water isn't clear and clean. We rely on tank water, but when we used creek water I couldn't use fabric softener because the water was a little stained. The clothes washed perfectly without fabric softener.
You have to dilute the fabric softener before putting it in the washer. Fabric softener can make dark clothes shiny if you have to iron them.
