Does anybody know how to remove odors from plastic dishes.?
Question:I made an awesome salsa, but know all I can smell is onions, pepers & garlic. I have tried soaking it in hot water & cold water. Also with some lemon juice & dish soap. My dad told me to try freezing the bowl. Nothing has helped.
Answers:
Soak it in bleach water.
You might want to try a diluted bleach solution.
I can suggest this, white wine vinegar & lemon juice
Throw it in the trash...that is what disposables are for. If it retained the onion and garlic, it will probably do the same with the bleach. To quote Alton Brown "not good eats".
try baking soda and sum lemon juice...if no luck then try putting the plates in direct sunlight..it should easily kill the odors...
Fill your sink with cold water & add baking soda, & stir. Let soak overnight, then in the morning, wash as you normally would.
wash them in hot soapy water, just like your regular dishes. rinse em real good with cold water, and then run hot water over them for a bit. dry em off with paper towels, and sit em on the counter to "air" out for a while. it works for me. . . good luck
wad up a piece of newspaper and seal it inside the container. In a few days the odor will be gone.
