Question:Blue ink from a ball point pen. The stain is fresh and the shirt has not yet been washed.
Answers:
Try the hairspray trick. Had the same problem with a white cotton shirt and was successful in removing the black ink using hairspray. Read the article below, it provides a step-by-step procedure in removing ink stains.
tide to go it works
KB,
Take a soft piece of cloth, washcloth, old tshirt, and hold it on the back side of the stained area.take hairspray and spray the stained area up close...it will blow the ink stain through to the cloth behind it.Spot Shot works also. Good luck!
So-called "oxygen" cleaners may work. OxyClean is pretty good; if the shirt is expensive, it might be worth the money to buy some and try it.
Spray hairspray on the stain (aerosol type works best). Let it soak in. Rinse with cold water. Repeat a whole bunch of times. I usually end up rubbing the hairspray in with my finger or rubbing the fabric together because I'm not patient enough.
rubbing alcohol... old dryer cleaners secret... works on ANY ink or markers...
Spray the ink stains with hair spray on both sides of the fabric just before you launder the shirt. This sounds odd but works ever time.
in the cleaning ile, you can find stain removers for getting ink out. right off the top of my head not sure what the name is, bu i know its in a yellow container...
it will say gets out ink
Go for dry-cleaning (petrol and then steam wash), it will remove ink-stain to the maximum level. If you put it again for the second time, the stain will more or less be removed.
All other usage will only spoil the cloth.
Ok sounds weird but, squirt the stain with hairspray, it should come right off. Or soak the spot in Methylated spirits for a few minutes then put the garment in the wash. Or treat the stain by first wetting it with some white vinager, the rub in a paste of 2 parts vinager to 3 parts cornflour. Let the paste throughly dry before washing the shirt.
