Getting crayon out of my car upholstery?
Question:Any good ideas? I have a silver crayon melted into my backseat. AUGH!!
Answers:
K - get paper towel and a hot iron. heat should melt the wax and the paper towel should absorb it... put the paper towel over the crayon and iron your heart out... should work well (change the paper towel as needed)
id say that since a crayon is normally wax-based, id try ice, like with carpet if you have wax on it, you put ice on it .good luck
IRON OVER A BROWN PAPER BAG THAT SHOULD GET MOST OF IT OUT
Skin so Soft from Avon has some kind of chemical reaction to crayon and gum. I use it all of the time especially on my carpets.
Ice sounds like the way to go. If you use heat, then more of the oil is going to wind up in the upholstery. If you can freeze the wax then scrape it off, then attack the stain as you would another grease or oil stain. Citrus hand cleaners are very gentle on fabric and do not stain when used as directed.
Wal-Mart sales in the automotive department a blue magic car cleaner. It's in a blue and white can. It is used for both home and auto. The can has a picture of carpet in a home on it and a picture of a car on it. It's $2.98 a can. It works great even for stains that been their for years.
try goo gone
WD-40
