Is you house normally pretty clean or do you find out that you have company coming over and have to start?
Question:rushing all over the place trying to get it descent enough for someone to enter. if you are the second option. what is the one thing you do if you don't have much time before their arrival?

i would love to have a spotless house but i have dogs (muddy paws), cats (the fur, eeeeew), and birds (feathers, seeds). on top of that, i am a clutter magnet. when guests come, there is SO much to do, vaccume, steam floors, clean cages, poopy scoop cat boxes, as well as declutter. i think i need a house to live in and ANOTHER to receive guests in.
yeah it's pretty much clothes all over my room, but my friends always say they don't care because they do the same thing. :]
I would wipe up the kitchen and the bath rooms and pick up what is out of place..run sweeper where you think they would spend their time.Train yourself....some day when you know you are not having company.....act as if you were and see how much you can get done..I've done that lots of times
If I don't have much time, I rush to clean the guest bathroom first. Because everything else can be shoved under the bed or in a closet if it comes down to it. My sister's house is always "showroom ready", but I have better things to do than always be worried about an immaculate house!
My house is usually clean but lately i haven't found the time i have to start cleaning soon thou because my brother and his wife r on there way here from Arizona...i have to vacuum, do dishes, laundry, and mop! in the next 12 hours i wont be getting any sleep tonight
I've been known to pick up the cat and use him to swipe the dust off the two oak cabinets near the door. But most of the time, I'd need at least an hour to make the place presentable - pick up papers & books, run sweeper, clear off tables. There are disadvantages to being pack-rats {g}
Yes, my home is pretty clean. My mother always told me to keep a clean house because you never know what is going to happen and who may just drop by. My best strategy for keeping your home clean is put everything back and where it belongs. I found out that I spend way less time cleaning on the day I clean Saturday morning.
