What do you have to do to turn black pants black again?
Question:I've noticed that some of my black pants have some sort of white residues on them? I'm not so sure what they are. They won't come off with water or even after I wash them again.
Answers:
You can dye them black. Put some blue dye in with it as well, and add some vinegar to the rinse water.
Of course, later be sure to only wash them in cold water with other black clothes, as the dye will run a bit. Also, wash the pants inside out to reduce further fading and abrasion.
Whether you do it at home or at a laundromat (who usually forbid it), run another full cycle afterwards with bleach.
Buy some fabric dye. I believe a common brand is "Rit" you can do it in the designated washer for nasty stuff at the laundrymat if you don't want to stain yours. I think it costs around 4-5 USD. My husband wears black shirts for work and we do now and then to freshen the color.
I believe it is time for new black pants.
